Types and Order of Faults Reported
When a cable has more than one fault, the tester shows the fault
that you should fix first. For example, if the return loss test fails
because the cable is bad, and the cable also has a NEXT failure
due to a bad connector, you should replace the cable first.
The tester prioritizes faults in this order:

Insertion loss failure due to cable lubricant

Insertion loss failure due to excessive length

Return loss failure due to DC resistance in connector contacts
(This can cause an RL plot that looks like a problem with the
cable, so you should fix this problem, then do the test again
to see if RL still fails.)
 Return loss failure caused by the cable
 NEXT failure caused by the cable
 NEXT failure caused by poor termination or a poor-quality
connector

NEXT failure caused by too many connections for the selected
test limit
The fault information screens show connectors in grey when
other faults possibly affect the results for the connector.
For NEXT failures caused by multiple connectors, the screen shows
the worst connector in red.
Future software releases may give additional information about
faults. The latest software is available at no charge on the Fluke
Networks website.
