Removing the LCD
With the PCA removed, the final step in disassembling the Meter is to remove the
LCD assembly from the PCA. Refer to Figure 6 and use the following procedure to
remove the LCD assembly:
1.
Remove the two screws from the display end of the PCA.
2.
Hold the PCA face down with the fuse-end of the PCA toward you. Locate the
screw-hole near the center of the assembly. This hole is the one used to attach
(with a screw) the PCA to the top case.
3.
Now, locate the gray plastic tab just above and to the left of the hole. Using your
thumbnail press the tab down and toward the display end of the PCA. This will
release the LCD assembly from the PCA.

Caution
To avoid damaging the plastic guide pins on the LCD
assembly, keep the LCD assembly parallel to the PCA when
separating the two parts.
4.
Without tilting the PCA, lift it straight up and away from the LCD assembly.
5.
To keep loose parts from falling away from the LCD assembly, keep it face-
down, and set it in a safe place.
Replacing the LCD
The LCD assembly consists of four pieces as shown in Figure 6:
•
Translucent light-dispersing back panel
•
Flexible elastomeric conducting strip
•
Plastic Bezel for housing the assembly's components
•
Glass LCD display
With the LCD assembly removed from the PCA, use the following procedure to
replace the LCD:
1.
Lift the translucent light-dispersing back panel off of the plastic bezel.
2.
Remove the elastomeric strip from its slot in the bezel.
