Risk of burns!
After the fan is switched off, the charcoal can still be glowing for some time and the stainless
steel grate (1) can be very hot. Be careful not to burn yourself.
7.3 Tips for good grilling results
After firing up, leave the control dial (9) in the maximum position (clockwise until it stops) so that the
charcoal barbecue can heat up evenly. If unwanted flames appear during the charcoal warming up
phase, reduce the fan speed by turning the control dial (9). To do this, turn it counter-clockwise.
The unit allows low-fat, healthy cooking of meat, fish, sausages, poultry and vegetables. It may be
necessary to cut large or thick pieces of meat into smaller pieces or thinner slices.
Do not pierce the meat so it does not lose liquid. Otherwise it can dry out.
Season the food and turn it occasionally. We recommend the use of wooden barbecue tongs. You
can also brush fish with butter.
At the top fan speed, the charcoal barbecue heats up very quickly. Keep an eye on thin pieces of
food and sausages to stop them burning. Turn it frequently or turn the fan speed down.
The charcoal barbecue develops the most heat in the centre. Put bread on the edges to toast it. Put
thick slices of meat in the centre to cook.
Do not grill pickled or smoked meat.
Cut any charred or burnt pieces of food off and do not eat them. Also, make sure you do not drip
any beer on meat or sausages. Crusts and burnt bits can be carcinogenic!
Cut the fat from the edge of the meat and, for best results, only use lean meat cut into small pieces. If
the fat ignites and flames appear, turn the control dial (9) counter-clockwise to the “OFF” position
and take the meat from which the fat is dripping off the stainless steel grate (1). Once the flames
have disappeared, you can increase the fan speed again using the control dial (9) and place the
food back onto the grate. Do not extinguish the flames with water.
7.4 Topping up the charcoal
You can top up the charcoal if necessary. It is best to do this before the charcoal in the charcoal container
(4) is used up. This means the new charcoal can be kindled from the existing embers.
Risk of burns!
Use heat-resistant gloves in accordance with the PPE Ordinance (category II for heat
protection, DIN-EN 407). Otherwise you could get burnt.
Warning about property damage
Only put the charcoal container (4) and its cover (3) on heat-resistant surfaces. Otherwise, the
surface could be damaged by these hot accessories.
