1.7 Laser Range Finder
The Laser Range Finder (LRF) is an eye-safe laser module. Range measurement is
achieved by using a single-pulse
The LRF is inhibited by the weight on wheels signal. The weight on wheels signal
disconnects the laser and prevents the laser to be inadvertently fired on the ground.
The LRF is also inhibited by
“No Fire Zones” to prevent firing on the airframe structure.
Laser Range Finder WARNING
The LRF is an eye safe Class 1 Laser Product according to ANSI Z136.1-2000 and
an Eye safe Class 1M Laser Product according to IEC 60825-1 Edition 1.2 of 2001-
08.
• Do not look at laser with binoculars or other optical instruments.
• The LRF emits an invisible laser beam.
• Do not open LRF – Danger of high voltage electrical shock.
• The LRF is a sensitive electro-optical instrument and should be handled with care.
• Do not aim the LRF at highly reflective objects or surfaces (windows, mirrors or
reflective sign boards) within a radius of <100m since the powerful laser reflection
will damage the LRF sensitive detector.
