The top right portion of the page contains one direct entry button, two page buttons, and six overlay
buttons. The direct entry button is FLIGHT FREEZE. The Flight Freeze direct entry button will cause
the aircraft’s flight simulation to freeze in its current conditions/position without freezing the simulation
environment. To clear the Flight Freeze condition, select the Flight Freeze direct entry button a second
time. The page buttons are used to access the Weather/Visual and Visual Traffic pages. Refer to
WEATHER/VISUAL and VISUAL TRAFFIC. The remainder of the buttons on this page are overlay
buttons. They are Airport Frequencies, Change Reposition Airport, Push Back, Change Destination Airport,
T/O Training FMC Data Retain, and Vis Pattern FMC Data Retain. These are described in the following
paragraphs.
3.3.1.
Using the Active Airport/Repositions Page
The Active Airport/Repositions page is used to change to a different airport, select the new active runway
and position the aircraft at the desired location at the airport. Perform the following procedure to set up
the aircraft at the new airport.
1) Select the CHANGE REPOSITION AIRPORT overlay button. The Change Reposition
Airport overlay is displayed. See Paragraph 3.3.3.
2) Select the desired airport’s button or if the desired airport is not in the list of Popular
airports, select the data entry button at the top of the overlay. This will bring up an
alphanumeric keypad where the user can enter the desired airport’s ident.
3) Select the OK button on the keypad to close the overlay and return to the Active Airport
page.
4) Select the desired runway button located beneath the Reposition Airport boundary box.
5) Select the desired location to reposition the aircraft to by selecting the desired direct entry
button in the Reposition Airport boundary box.
6) Select the EXECUTE REPOSITION button to execute the reposition.
7) Once the aircraft has been repositioned, touch the FLIGHT FREEZE button to remove
Flight Freeze and continue with the training session.
3.3.2.
Airport Frequencies
The Airport Frequencies overlay is accessed by selecting the AIRPORT FREQUENCIES overlay button
on the Active Airport/Repositions page. See Figure 3-2. The Frequencies overlay displays the current
airport’s communication frequencies, available runway summary, and navigation aids.
