INTRODUCTION
The master (crew) warning system provides a warning for airplane equipment mal-
functions, an unsafe operating condition requiring immediate attention, an abnormal sys-
tem malfunction, or an indication that a system is in operation. Crew alerting is through
visual and aural means.
The Learjet 45 master (crew) warning system
consists of the crew warning panel (CWP),
the crew alerting system (CAS), voice mes-
sages, and the master warning/caution lights.
The crew warning panel is an electronic as-
sembly containing illuminated displays and
aural generating systems. The CWP is used to
provide the primary red warnings and cockpit
tone and voice warnings. The CWP receives
sensor inputs and responds with illuminated
annunciators and/or voice and tone messages.
It further controls the pilot and co-pilot mas-
ter warning/caution annunciators and man-
ages the fire extinguisher system. As illustrated
in Figure 4-1, the CWP is center mounted on
the main instrument panel, and the master
warning/caution lights are located in the
glareshield, next to the DU2 and DU3 rever-
sion switches. The CAS displays warning,
caution and advisory messages as a sub-func-
