• Parking brake is ON (white CAS message
“EMER/PARK BRK” turns red).
• Thrust reversers are unlocked or deployed
(red UNL or DEP displayed above N1 on
EICAS and L/R REV UNSAFE on CWP).
• Flaps not set to 8 or 20 degrees (white
boxed flap indication turns red).
• Spoilers not retracted (display is boxed on
SUMRY page and turns red; the white
“SPOILERS EXT” CAS message turns red).
• Pitch, aileron or rudder trim not within
takeoff band. In addition to the white CAS
message “TAKEOFF TRIM” turning red,
the white, boxed, digital displays of trim
that are not within the takeoff band turn red
and are highlighted with a red box on the
SUMRY page.
• PIT TRIM BIAS not at zero (white CAS
message turns red).
• PITCH TRIM MISCOMPARE has detected
a difference between the primary and sec-
ondary trim position sensors, and pitch
trim indication may be invalid. Also, the
white “PIT TRIM MSCMP” CAS message
turns red.
All of the above criteria are annunciated by ei-
ther a CAS message and/or “box” logic on the
EICAS display even with the thrust levers at
idle. Flight controls settings (flaps, spoilers,
trim) that are not suitable for takeoff will also
be displayed in red on the flight control sys-
tem page if it is selected for display on the
EICAS or MFD. The flight control box logic
only applies to ground operations. If any of the
above conditions are not satisfied, and either
throttle lever is advanced to MCR or above the
takeoff configuration warning voice message
will trip. This voice message is played on both
pilot headsets and the cockpit speaker, and
will continue to play until the unsafe condi-
tion is corrected.
ABNORMAL CONDITION
INDICATIONS
In the event the airplane experiences a dual gen-
erator failure, annunciation of system mal-
functions is degraded. In this situation the
normal display units will not be available for
warning, caution and advisory message an-
nunciation. Engine instrumentation and system
status is automatically transferred to RMU #1,
should the IC-600’s detect the loss of EICAS in-
formation being sent to the normal display units.
Since airplane red warning annunciations (ex-
cept APU or engine fire) are backed up on the
CWP, they continue to operate normally.
Engine fire indications will be available on the
RMU engine/system page. Amber caution and
white advisory messages previously displayed
on EICAS will not be available for display.
Limited system malfunctions will be displayed
on the RMU as red and amber unboxed dis-
plays, however.
