6.2 Setting up the forced steering (optional)
Adjusting and venting the forced steering (working operation).
The forced steering is pre-fitted to the trailer and must be adapted to the relevant towing vehicle by the
user (see also section 6.1.5).
Prerequisites
Hitch the trailer to the towing vehicle (tractor) via the flange coupling.
Installation as described in section 6.1.5; establish the hydraulic connection to the towing vehicle
(SVK plug connection). The tractor/trailer combination must be positioned in a line.
Procedure
Setting up the system
1. Position the vehicle in a line
(all wheels must be straight)
2. Connect the steering cylinders to the towing
vehicle
3. Establish the hydraulic connection to the
vehicle
4. Open stopcocks L1 and L2
(Must be opened before travel to avoid
damaging the hydraulic cylinders)
5. Open stopcocks 1, 2 and 3
Apply a pressure of 50 bar to the system
6. Close stopcock 1
7. Close stopcocks 2 and 3 one after the other
8. Check whether the forced steering is
functioning correctly at full steering lock
9. If not, there may be air in the system
Venting the system:
1.
If there is air in the system: Vent via the
sealing cap and the screw joint on the
hydraulic cylinder
2.
Open stopcocks (1 - 3)
3.
Flush the system with a pressure of approx.
30 bar, until no more air escapes
(use a collecting vessel)
4.
Close stopcocks (1 - 3)
5.
Check whether the forced steering is
functioning correctly at full steering lock
