6.8 Setting the flow control valve/potentiometer (optional)
Notes on connecting the hydraulic lines are provided in the replacement parts list for
the push-off trailer.
6.8.1
Mechanical flow control valve
Functional description
The push-off speed is set via a manually adjustable flow control valve. It is located at the bottom right
behind the recess in the bulkhead guard, if fitted.
A pressure sequence valve ensures that the push-off unit only begins to work once the sliding gate is
fully open.
Procedure:
The push-off speed is set via the adjusting wheel at position "
2
".
Turning the wheel clockwise reduces the speed. Turning it anti-
clockwise raises the speed.
Setting values
-
Start with setting 2 - 3.
-
Make the setting depending on the towing vehicle;
internal consumption approx. 8.8.
-
The setting depends on the spreading medium and
application amount.
Objective:
The moving panel travels towards the spreading
roller with a constant working pressure.

The flow control valve is correctly set in the factory and must not be changed.
In addition to the valve setting, the application amount and spreading pattern are also
affected by the travel speed. To achieve optimum results, test runs and adjustments
are required while working.
The setting of the push-off speed must be adapted to the load to be spread.
Due to design reasons, different oil flow rates exist in the push-off cylinders, which
become active one after the other. Therefore, to ensure a constant push-off speed,
the oil flow rate must be adjusted when the moving panel has completed 30% and
60% of its travel.
For orientation purposes, markings are provided on the side walls of the spreading
trough to indicate the position of the moving panel.
This allows the operator to see when he must adjust the oil flow rate.
