4.3 Installation of the coupling plates
In the following, the installation of the coupling plates in diagonal arrangement is described. The coupling plates are
mounted on opposite sides of the pipe.
The installation of the coupling plates in reflection arrangement is realized analogously. The coupling plates are installed
on the same side of the pipe.
Evening the pipe surface at the measuring point
The pipe surface is evened using the supplied pipe planer, see Fig. 4.44. Reliable and permanent acoustic coupling be-
tween the pipe wall and the coupling plate can only be obtained with a carefully evened surface at the measuring point.
For the evening using the automatic WI tool (optional) see annex A.
Realize the following steps:
• Slide the pipe planer into the coupling plate apertures of the pipe mounting fixtures, see Fig. 4.44 and Fig. 4.45.
