Routine cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning wet area:
Observe current legal regula-
tions and standards! Fläkt-
Group recommends to
perform maintenance steps
and observe intervals speci-
fied in VDI 6022
Condensate can contain chlorides, organic compounds, chemicals and cleaning
agents that can penetrate the unit as a result of evaporation process. These sub-
stances can deposit on unit surfaces as sediments and thin crust which in extreme
case can lead to intense corrosion.
– Use a soft sponge with a slightly alkaline detergent to thoroughly clean possible
deposits. Ensure that the protective layer of the structural elements of the unit is not
damaged.
– Subsequently, use much fresh water to rinse cleaned components and the conden-
sate tray. If the corrosion-protection layer is damaged, repair the latter without delay.
– Use a dry cloth or an industrial vacuum cleaner, if necessary, to remove dry coarse
dirt.
– Remove remaining dirt following a subsequent installation of add-on accessory
items.
– For other contaminants use a dry cloth to remove dirt, if applicable wash off using
some water by adding alkaline cleaning agent.Do not use abrasive sponges or tools
that may scratch or scrape the protective surface during cleaning (surface can be
damaged).
– For disinfectioning unit surfaces use cleaning agents specified in the “List of disin-
fection procedures (DGHM)” issued by the German Society for Hygiene and Micro-
biology. Refer to this list for details and consider the specified concentration and
exposure time. Use the following cleaning agents: e.g. BODE Microbak or DES-
OMED Desotop. For correct concentration refer to the data sheet provided by the
manufacturer and/or select a non-visible small surface to test the solution there
beforehand.
– Using alcohol-containig agents is not allowed due to risk of explosion and fire.
– Handle galvanized parts with a preservative spray.
– Apply a lubricant spray to all moving parts, such as door latches and hinges, with the
exception of dampers and louvres!
– Clean gaskets on the inspection doors and check for leaks. FläktGroup recom-
mendes to handle gaskets with a waterproof preservative.
– Check for tight fit of all components and component groups.
– Check electrical connections.
– Check earthing.
– Ensure that the unit is dry and residue-free!
HAZARDOUS VOLTAGE AND RISK OF ROTATING COMPONENTS! OB-
SERVE PERSONAL PROTECTION MEASURES
Please consider the safety instructions on page 58.
After the cleaning procedure ensure that the unit is dry and residue-free!
WARRANTY IN CASE CORROSION DAMAGE:
The corrosion protection properties of FläktGroup CAIR
fricostar
units meet state-
of-the-art standards and have been carefully configured by FläktGroup technical
staff.
However, even the most sophisticated corrosion protection is not a reason for
neglecting regular maintenance of the corrosion-endangered components. Fur-
thermore, the configuration of the unit equipment requires field-provided data on
the expected and general site operating conditions of a swimming pool.
In case of corrosion damage, warranty is only valid if FläktGroup specified mainte-
nance intervals were adhered to and properly recorded in the log book. The pool
operator is responsible for reporting any corrosion damage in the swimming pool
or adjoining rooms. The pool operator must harmonize the construction materials
of a pool building and the corresponding chemicals used.
