Now secure the two ’L’ foot brackets to 

the  bottom  of  the  vertical  side  brackets, 
making  sure  that  the  overall  height  of 

the frame created is 51”, measured from 

the horizontal part of the bracket. 

Set  this  bracket  frame  up  against  the 

wall,  centering  and  leveling  it  on  the   
fireplace.  

 

It  is  the  steel  brackets  that  securely 

hold  the  mantel  to  the  wall.  These  must 
be  firmly  installed  to  ensure  the  mantel 
is  also securely installed! 

Lay out the brackets on the floor in the 

position  shown,  and secure  the two  side 
brackets  to  the  horizontal  bracket  with 
the  bolts  provided.  Make  sure  that  you 

have a width of 49” as shown.

It  is  crucial  that  the  upper  horizontal 

bracket  be  securely  fixed  onto  the    
available  wall  studding.  But  because  the 
opening  in  the  chase  runs  above  the   
bottom  of  the  horizontal  bracket,  it  can 
only  be  secured  into  position  at  each 
end. Secure with screws.
