35.
CLEANING THE SIDE BRUSH
Proceed as follows in order to clean the side brush:
1.
Make sure the electric brake is engaged, otherwise engage it using the lever located at the left
rear of the machine (working direction).
2.
Check the main switch (1) is in the “0” position, if this is not the case, turn the key by a quarter of
a turn to the left, and remove the key from the instrument panel.
3.
Check that the side brush is lifted from the ground, otherwise turn the lever (2) clockwise.
WARNING: you are advised to always wear protective gloves, to avoid the risk of
serious injury to your hands.
4.
Remove knob (3) fixing the side brush to the gearmotor by rotating clockwise the right brush and
counterclockwise the left brush.
5.
Remove the side brush locking washer (4).
6.
Remove the side brush.
7.
Clean the brush under running water to remove any impurities present in the bristles of the brush.
Check the bristles are not worn; in the event of excessive wear, replace the brushes. Read paragraph
“SIDE BRUSH REPLACEMENT” to replace the brush.
8.
Repeat the operations in reverse to reassemble.
