E-750 on a NetWare network
Tips for experts—IPX networks
Setting up the E-750 is similar to setting up any other PostScript printer on
the network.
The E-750 with IPX connections has the following characteristics:
•
A minimum connection to the E-750 consists of a NetWare file server, a NetWare
print server, and a NetWare queue.
•
A single directory tree and up to eight bindery servers can be configured
simultaneously.
•
The E-750 looks for print jobs on one NetWare print server per bindery server.
•
Each print server can store jobs for any print connection on the E-750.
Overview of IPX printing to the E-750
NetWare file servers support the creation of print queues, which are storage areas for
print jobs. When a client on a remote computer decides to print, the job is directed to
a print queue on the NetWare file server and spooled to the NetWare server disk,
freeing up the client workstation.
You must give the NetWare queue names a specific extension corresponding to the
E-750 print connection, as follows:
_print
_hold
_direct
N
OTE
:
These extension names must be in English and in all lowercase letters.
