Removing transportation locks from the moving parts

The moving parts of the product are attached to the Z-module with a locking module and transporta-
tion locks, depending on the configuration, to prevent the parts from uncontrolled movement during
transport or assembly.

CAUTION

Risk of injury from unsecured moving parts of the product.
Moving parts may break free and run uncontrollably to the end position at high acceleration.
• Before handling the product, check that the moving parts of the product are secured with transpor-

tation locks.

• Secure unsecured moving parts with transportation locks.

Fig. 29: Identification of the transportation lock for moving parts

After assembly and before the product is energised:
Remove all marked transportation locks from the moving parts.

Locking module on the Z-module
The fuse module depends on the configuration.

The Z-module with a Festo motor has a brake function:
The moving parts do not have a locking module.

For the Z-module without Festo motor:

Short-stroke Z-modules EHMZ-EGSC, EHMZ-EGSL, DHMZ-DGSL or DHMZ-DGST:
Locking the moving parts is not necessary. The slide can move.

Long-stroke Z-modules EHMZ-EGC or EMHZ-DGEA:
The drive shaft/Z-axis is fixed in place by the locking module.
