4.1 Commi ss ionin g pro c ed u re
The following steps are required for commissioning the
HGPPI−... as a fieldbus station:
1. Set the desired PROFIBUS−DP address for the gripper.

Note
The PROFIBUS address cannot be changed by a DP master.
2. Install the GSD file and the symbol files.
3. Create the desired hardware configuration with the
configuration software for the DP master (e.g. with STEP 7
hardware configurator) and enter the starting parameters
for the HGPPI−... in accordance with your application.
4. Save the configuration and load it into the control.
5. Connect the HGPPI−... gripper with the PROFIBUS−DP
master via the fieldbus.
6. Create a user program with a communication module
for controlling the gripper.
7. Then begin with the commissioning of the gripper on
the fieldbus. Test the connection in online mode.
