• Repeat the steps on the other end of the axis to remove the second drive
cover.
4.2.2
Dismantling the drive covers
Clamping sleeves
The clamping sleeves are inserted into the drive covers, however they can also
be located in the cylinder barrel following disassembly of the drive covers. Pull
out these parts to replace them.
Toothed drive shafts
The toothed drive shaft sits in a clearance fit in the drive cover with two
pressed-on deep-groove ball bearings and is axially secured by two retaining
rings.
Removing the toothed drive shafts
• Lever the sealing discs out of the drive cover.
• Remove the retaining ring opposite the drive trunnion.
Note
In the case of toothed drive shafts with two or no drive trunnions, you can
remove any retaining ring.
