Quick Start Guide
ENGLISH:
As far as you bought the WiFi enclosure without the internal hard drive, you have to install the hard drive
yourself.
Important Note:
Once you have closed the enclosure, it’s not possible to open it again without damaging the cover. Please
make sure to install the HDD properly!!!
1. Hardware Installation
Please follow the steps for 2.5” hard drive installation:

1. Open the enclosure
2. Carefully fix the included screws together with the rubber shock mounts at the screw holes of the HDD.
3. After installing the screws together with the rubber shock mounts, carefully push the hard drive into the SATA connector.
4. Once the internal hard drive is adjusted and secured correctly, put the top cover into the grooves of the bottom enclosure and then snap it
in to close it.
Important Note:
Once you have close
d the enclosure, it’s not possible to open it again without damaging the cover. Please make sure to install the HDD
properly!!!
5. Congratulations. Now you can use the device either as an external hard drive or as an WiFi HDD. When connected directly to the
computer’s USB Port, the battery will be charged, too. For usage as a WiFi disk, do not connect it to an USB interface. The charging of the
battery by a 5V power supply is possible at any time.
Note:
If you installed a brand new HDD or want to format the HDD, please follow Point 2. HDD Format.
2. HDD Format procedure (MS Windows)
Note:
Following file systems are supported: FAT, FAT32, NTFS, exFAT. Please follow the steps to format the hard drive.
Step 1.
Please connect the device to your
computer’s USB 3.0 interface. Right-click
the “My Computer” icon on your desktop
and select Manage from the pop-up
window. Then open Disk Management
option to show the connected hard drivers.
Step 2.
Right-click the configured disk's
unallocated space and select “New
Partition”. If the New Partition option is not
available, select the disk and initialize it
first. To do this, right-click on the disk item
and select „Initialize Disk".
Step 3.
Click to start the Partition Wizard
and follow the steps until the format
procedure is finished. To shorten the
formatting procedure, please use
“Quick
Format
” option.
3. Client App for iOS and Android
1.
Search and locate the free “FANTEC MWiD” app
at Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Once the installation proce
ss has been completed, the “FANTEC MWiD” app can be found on the desktop.
4. Wireless connect the WiFi HDD to your iPhone/iPad/Smartphone/Tablet
1. Turn-on the WiFi HDD. Wait for few moments to complete the booting process. The blue WiFi LED on the device should remain solid
indicating that the initialization process has been completed.
2. Turn-on your iOS/Android device.
Click on the “Settings” icon on the desktop, then on the “WiFi” option. Inside of the WiFi Network, the
SSID “WifiDisk-XXXX” should appear on the list. Click on the “WifiDisk-
XXXX
” as seen on the image below. The 4 characters
“XXXX”
represent the 4 last digits of the device’s MAC-Address. The WPA2 key is: 11111111
Once the “WifiDisk -XXXX” is connected, a check mark will appear before the SSID or the WiFi logo display as “Connected”.
5. User Login
1. Click on the “FANTEC MWiD” icon to launch the app
as seen on the image below.
2. Enter the password
“admin”.
The password is only required during the first login.
The device remembers the password and
there is no need to enter it again.
3. Once the password has been entered correctly,
you will be automatically connected to
the “My WiDisk”.
The “My WiDisk” is the MWiD25 storage device.
