PERIPHERAL COMMUNICATIONS
The VNP400 permits the data transfer from and to a computer or peripheral device
offering the following options:
*
Send and receive a part-program.
*
Send and receive the tool table.
*
Send and receive the Machine parameters.
These operations require the following general machine parameters to be set:
P005
Defines the type of communications protocol to be used.
P006
Indicates the number of data bits per transmitted character.
P007
Indicates the number of stop bits used at the end of each transmitted word.
P008
Indicates the type of parity check used in the communication.
P009
Indicates the communication baudrate.
P010
Indicates the end-of-line character being used.
It is also possible to use the probe to send the coordinates of the probed point out to a
computer or peripheral device.
In this case, the following machine parameters must also be set:
P003
Indicates the type of flank of the probe signal being used.
P004
Indicates whether the DRO freezes or updates the display of the axes
positions while the probe signal is being received.
In all these cases, the data receiving unit must be ready before establishing
communications.
