Password Setup
There are two security passwords: Supervisor and User. Supervisor is a privileged
person that can change the User password from the BIOS.
According to the default setting, both access passwords are not set up and are
only valid after you set the password from the BIOS.
To set the password, please complete the following steps.
1.
Select Change Supervisor Password.
2.
Type the desired password (up to 8 character length) when you see the
message, “Enter New Supervisor Password.”
3.
Then you can go on to set a user password (up to 8 character length) if
required. Note that you cannot configure the User password until the
Supervisor password is set up.
4.
Enter Advanced CMOS Setup screen and point to the Password Checkup field.
5.
Select Always or Setup.
Always: a visitor who attempts to enter BIOS or operating system will be
prompted for password.
Setup: a visitor who attempts to the operating system will be prompted for user
password. You can enter either User password or Supervisor password.
6.
Point to Save Settings and Exit and press Enter.
7.
Press Y when you see the message, “Save Current Settings and Exit (Y/N)?”
Note: it is suggested that you write down the password in a safe place to avoid
that password may be forgotten or missing.
To set the password, please complete the following steps.
1.
Select Change Supervisor Password.
2.
Press Enter instead of entering any character when you see the message,
“Enter New Supervisor Password.”
3.
Thus you can disable the password.
