Verifying the Accessory Kit Items
The data plane shipment includes an Accessory Kit packed on top of the
component. The following table lists the contents of the Accessory Kit.
Installing the Slide Rails and the Components
Important
Install the control plane first and ensure that there is room in the rack to
install the data plane directly under it. You will need an additional 2 rack
units under the control plane to accommodate the data plane. The 2
components will be held together by the ear assemblies and the front bezel.
Install the control plane first and then repeat the instructions for the data
plane.
Before you install the components, you must first assemble and install the
slide (rack-mount) rails shipped with each component and used to support
them in a standard EIA rack.
1. Install the slide rails, using the instructions,
Slide Rail Installation
.
2. Continuing to follow the slide rail installation instructions, align the
component with the slide rails and slide it partially into place on the
rails while pushing the rails towards the sides of the component.
Leave about 6 inches of the component extended out from the rack.
When both components are installed, attach the ear assemblies and fully
retract the switch into the rack. Screw the ear assemblies to the rack, using
the screws provided.
