Understanding indicator LED behavior
It helps to understand the indicator LED behavior of the BIG-IP software,
on the 6900/8900 platform.
Indicator LED behavior
The appearance and behavior of each LED indicate the status of the system.
Table 4.1 defines the indicator LED behavior.
Standard operating states
When the system is in a standard operating state, the status and alarm LEDs
appear and behave in a specific manner. Table 4.2 defines the standard
operating states for the status and alarm LEDs.
Appearance
Description
Off (none)
The LED is not lit and does not display any color.
Solid
The LED is lit and does not blink.
Blinking
The LED turns on and off at a regular frequency.
Intermittent
The LED turns on and off with an irregular frequency
and may sometimes appear solid.

System is running in normal mode.
yellow
System is running in an impaired mode.
The condition is not considered significant enough
register as an alarm.
Alarm
off
No alarm conditions exist.
red
Severe alarm–system is not running.
The condition is possibly damaging to the system.
yellow
Non-severe alarm–system is running improperly.
The condition is not considered to be damaging to the
system.
