7.8 Chain
Check the chain tension and condition regularly: it must always be clean and lubricated. In the case of
bicycles equipped with a derailleur, the chain tension is adjusted automatically. For other bicycles, a sag of
10 - 20 mm is required.
HINT!
When you go on a long ride, consider picking up tools to repair the chain. This will allow you to
temporarily repair a damaged chain.
7.9 Gears
In case your e-bike is equipped with a gear mechanism (3, 6, 7, or 8 gears), you will find a gear shifter on the
right handlebar grip. You can shift gears by turning the gear shifter ring. The selected gear is shown on the
handle display. The gear wire is connected to the rear geared hub.
When your e-bike is equipped with a gear system and you have a 7 or 8 gear e-bike, you need to contact a
bicycle repair service if it needs repair. In the case of a 3-gear e-bike, you can try the following: put the bike
in second gear and turn the adjusting screw until the yellow square is right between the two lines on the hub
display.
In case your e-bike is equipped with 3 front gears and 7 or 8 rear gears, we say it has 21 or 24 gears, as
we have different combinations of front and rear gears. The transfer of the chain from one gear to another
is made by a front and a rear derailleur. These derailleurs are controlled by two gear shifters mounted on
the handlebars: right for the rear derailleur and left for the front derailleur.

Gears adjustment
The gears are adjusted by pre-stretching the wire in the lowest position of the derailleur. The derailleur wire
is prone to loosening, which reduces the accuracy when shifting gears. If necessary, the wire can be
