This section describes the operation of the FOX3 matrix switchers via SIS commands,
including:

Connections Options
The FOX3 Matrix Switcher can be configured and controlled using SIS commands or PCS.
Configure and control the FOX3 remotely via a host computer or other device (such as a
control system) by connecting to the rear panel RS-232 port, LAN port, or the front panel
USB Config port of the FOX3 device via an SSH (Secure Shell) client on port
22023
.
Rear Panel RS-232 Port
The FOX3 Matrix Switcher rear panel RS-232 port (see figure 2 ,
D
on page 8) can be
connected to a host device such as a computer running the DataViewer utility, or a control
system. This port makes serial control of the switcher possible.
The default protocol for the port is as follows:
• 9600 baud • no parity • 8 data bits
•
1 stop bit
•
no flow control
NOTE: The serial ports can be configured to operate at the 9600, 19200, 38400, or
115200 baud rate, but Extron recommends leaving these ports at 9600 baud only.
Front Panel Configuration Port
The USB mini-B port is located on the front panel (see figure 8 ,
A
on page 15). Connect
to a host computer for configuration using SIS commands via an SSH client and IP address
203.0.113.22 and port 22023 (see Establishing a Connection on page 19 to connect
to an SSH client).
