Using the solar panel

•  The solar panel has a lifespan of over 25 years if it is used about 6 hours per day.
•  The solar panel can be used for maintenance charging of the battery, but the torch and

radio should be switched off for best results.

Position the radio where the solar panel is exposed to as much sunlight as possible

 The charging indicator will light.

Using the crank

1.  Extend the crank handle from the rear of the radio.
2.  Wind the crank in either direction for a few minutes.

 The charging indicator will

light while the crank is wound.

Power:
60 winds/min in one hour will charge the battery with approximately: 200 mAh
120 winds/min in one hour will charge the battery with approximately:350 mAh
Max charging current 600 mA

From a fully-discharged battery state, winding the crank for approximately 3 minutes will
provide 10 minutes of radio listening.

Using a wall socket

Connect a Micro-USB cable to the USB input on the dynamo radio and to a USB charger of
your choice. The blue LED indicators will light to show the charge status of the battery. When
all four indicators shine steadily the battery is fully charged (approximately four hours).

Charging external devices

•  The included cable is only intended for charging devices having a Micro-USB port.
•  The dynamo radio is capable of charging telephones in an emergency, but should not be

used regularly as a power bank.

Connect the included charging cable (or the charging cable of the device to be charged) to
the USB output port on the radio and to the external device.

Playing the radio

When the battery is fully charged the radio can play for approximately 15–18 hours.

1.  Extend the aerial completely. It might need to be adjusted a little to pick up a clear signal.
2.  Slide the [

AM/FM

] switch to the desired frequency band.

3.  Turn the [

] knob to switch the radio on and set the volume.
