7 Remotely Controlling the T200S
You can remotely control the T200S by using the Ethernet port located on the rear panel
(see
Rear panel on page 3). Maximum transfer rates are available in Technical
Specifications on page 1.
Your unit offers a set of commands permitting remote control of the T200S.
You can find all the commands and queries supported by the T200S in
SCPI Command
Reference on page 71.
This section explains how to connect the T200S to an external device such as PC for remote
control and gives details on communication principles.
Setting the T200S Ethernet Port
You can remotely control the T200S from a computer connected to the T200S directly or
through your company’s network.
If you do not know how to configure this port or if the connection does not work, contact
your company network administrator.
To directly control the T200S from a computer:
1.
In the T200S task bar, touch the button to display the Settings window and select
the Ethernet tab.
The TCP socket area enables you to configure the Ethernet connection of the T200S.
2. Connect an RJ45 cable from your computer to the T200S Ethernet port.

In the Settings window, in the IPv4 or IPv6 tab, clear the Obtain an IP address
automatically check box and define a static IP address (e.g. 192.168.64.10), subnet
mask (e.g. 255.255.255.0) and gateway to identify your T200S.
4. Touch Apply to validate the connection parameters.

On your computer:

Define a static IP address (e.g. 192.168.64.5, the three first number must be identical
to the ones set for the T200S), subnet mask (e.g. 255.255.255.0) and gateway to
identify your computer.

Use the Ethernet parameters defined in the T200S Settings window to set the
communication with your T200S in your application.
