4.2 Setting a Predefined Increment/Decrement Step
Subject The following procedure explains how to change the wavelength increment (STEP) value.
Procedure 1. In the MODE area, press the STEP key.
2. Using the numeric keypad, enter the wanted wavelength or frequency step.
Example for wavelength (nm): 0.5
3. Make sure the value you entered is valid, as specified in section Valid Ranges for
Parameter Settings, p. 14

The required output power may not be reached even at the maximum allowable
current. If this occurs, the T100S-HP automatically limits the current to its maximum
value and the message
"Lim" appears
4. In the SETUP area, press the ENTER key.
5. Increase or decrease the wavelength by pressing the

or
→
arrow keys in the
SETUP area .
4.3 Using the Fine Scanning Mode (Fine Tuning)
Subject The Fine Scanning Mode performs a complete and virtually continuous sweep of the
wavelength on a ±2 GHz range. It enables you to fine tune wavelength with a 0.1 pm
resolution. You first need to set the desired emission wavelength (resolution 1 pm) and
then adjust the value with the FSC function key (0.1 pm resolution), as described below.
Procedure 1. To enable the Fine Scanning mode: in the MODE area, press the FSC function key .
2. Adjust the wavelength with the rotary knob over a limited range of about ±20 pm.
The wavelength offset selected with the rotary knob is displayed in the DATA area in
nm (d
λ ) or GHz (df).
3. To exit the Fine Scanning mode, press the FSC function key again.
