Buffer to Buffer Flow Control
Buffer to Buffer (BB) Flow Control is also called as Flow Control
Management. This manages the control of data traffic between the local
and remote fibre channel ports based on the network, distance, and
congestion in the traffic.
Each remote port advertises the buffer size during login, which is called the
BB_Credit
value.
When
Login
is enabled, Flow Control is automatically enabled. When
Login
is enabled, the
Available BB_Credit
value is displayed based on the
Advertised BB_Credit
value of the remote port. If the login fails, the
Available BB_Credit
value is “–”. You can configure the
Available
BB_Credit
value, if
Login
is disabled and flow control is enabled.
Enable:
The
Enable
check box is force selected when
Login
is
selected.
Available BB_Credit:
Available BB_Credit
is the number of frame
buffers that the remote port has available to receive frames from the
local port.
Available BB_Credit
is not editable when
Login
is enabled
and editable when
Login
is disabled and Buffer to Buffer Flow Control
is enabled. The accepted range is
1 to 65535
. The default setting is
10
.
Note:
After the
Login
process, the
Available BB_Credit
displays the value
received from the remote interface through the login process.
