Trouble shooting
If an accessory does not remove easily when pulled (in a
straight line) from the VC600 unit, then squeeze the inlet of
the accessory and pull away from the body of the unit or put
a small amount of hot water into the bottom of the waste
container - this will release the accessory.
POWER CONNECTION
This unit is a Class II appliance which means it is double-
insulated for your protection, no earthing wire is necessary.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Ewbank
Products Ltd. or its appointed agents.
Your unit has been supplied with a power cord with a fitted
fused plug.
Please read the following safety instructions
before use.
1. If the fitted plug is cut off from the power cord then
the plug must be disposed of safely.
NEVER in any
circumstances insert such a plug into a mains socket-
outlet.
2 A replacement fuse must be rated at 5 Amp. These must
be manufactured and approved to BS 1362.
3. IF IN ANY DOUBT CONTACT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
If you need to fit a plug to the power cord, this should be
fitted in accordance with the wiring instructions below and
will need to be used with a 5 Amp fuse. If in doubt consult a
qualified electrician.
If you are using an extension lead it must be rated at a
minimum of 10 Amps and fully unwound. Do not operate with
a lead rated less than 10 Amps as this will cause premature
failure of the motor which is not covered by the
guarantee.
As the colours of the wires in the power cord of the
application may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
