METHOD FOR CHAIN SHARPENING
• The chain saw must be turned off and locked
before it is sharpened. Lock the chain by pressing the front hand
guard to push. If necessary, the
a chain vise to hold the machine during grinding.
• Perform all grinding in the central part of the chain.
• Use a round file having a diameter of 4 mm.
• Slide the file at an angle of approximately 30 ° to the flat part of
the tooth and apply firm pressure by the file to the front corner of

• Take a couple of strokes for each tooth, starting with any teeth
left.
• Follow the same steps for all the right positions in the
opposite direction.
• The depth gauge determines the depth of penetration into the
wood and therefore the thickness of the chips. File for an angle of

between the cutting edges, and a recess of 0.65 mm (between the
depth gauge and the cutting edge) for a pitch of 0.325 “and 3/8”
• remove metal filings with a wire brush.
• After sharpening all teeth or teeth are sharp.
