8. Installation
The weather station can be placed on a level, stable surface using the fold-out stand (22). A suitable
mat should be used to prevent scratch marks on the surfaces of valuable furniture. You can also hang
the weather station on a wall-mounted screw using the mounting hole (13). The screw should protrude
approximately 2 cm from the wall.
To ensure optimal reception, do not place the weather station next to other electronic
devices, cables or metal objects. The weather station and outdoor sensor should be at least
2 m away from sources of interference. Obstacles that impair radio communication between
the two devices (such as buildings) should also be avoided. The open-air range of the radio
signal is approximately 100 m. This decreases when obstacles are present.
The outdoor sensor can be wall-mounted using the mounting hole (B) on the back. You can also hang
the sensor using the cable binder provided. To ensure optimal DCF reception, do not place the outdoor
sensor next to other electronic devices, cables or metal objects. Do not place the outdoor sensor in a
horizontal position.
Take care not to damage cables or wires during drilling and screwing. Mount the outdoor
sensor on the the left or right-hand side of a window so that you can read the display easily.
Ensure that the sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise the readings may be
inaccurate. For best results, mount the sensor on a north-facing wall and avoid exposure to
rain.
9. Operation
a) Inserting the batteries into the weather station
• Open the battery compartment cover (21) on the back of the weather station.
• Insert three AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment, ensuring that you pay
attention to the polarity markings (plus/+ and minus/-).
•
After inserting the batteries, all display symbols will appear briefly on the LCD display. You will hear a
short beep, indicating that the weather station is ready to use. The reception symbol (
) will flash
for approximately 3 minutes. This indicates that the weather station is searching for a signal from
the outdoor sensor. The backlight will turn on for approximately 10 seconds before the brightness
decreases.
•
Replace the battery compartment cover.
