BONUS FEET FOR SERGER

MODEL EP550 H

ELASTIC FOOT

This special sewing foot is for sewing on elastic tape. In the same operation, the fabric is trimmed, serged and gathered by
the constriction of the elastic tape.

Preparing the sewing machine

Differential feed setting:

set at “N” position

Stitch length:

4-5

Needles:

use 1 or 2 needles, depending on tape width

Thread tension:

standard setting

Inserting the elastic tape

Loosen screw (2) so that brake (1) at opening (4) is opened by 1.5 to 2 mm.

Place in elastic tape (3) and pass it back under the foot.

Tighten brake (1) with screw (2) again.  The more screw (2)” is turned, the stronger
the pressure of the brake (1) is on the elastic tape and thus the greater the gather effect.

Note

:

When the sewing foot is raised, the elastic tape should be pulled through brake (1) slightly loosened.
