Pump EDC Threshold
The EDC Threshold is the current supplied to the hydraulic pump control at which the asphalt pump begins to
spin. This threshold is always set at factory. This screen allows the operator to automatically calibrate the Pump
Threshold. The current supplied to hydraulic pump control begins at 0 and slowly ramps up until steady motion of
the asphalt pump is detected by the speed sensor. The current then ramps down until the pump stops spinning.
The current, in milliamps [mA], when the pump stops spinning is saved as a single calibration. This is repeated
twice, and the Pump Threshold setup parameter is set to the average of the three calibrations.
To calibrate, the truck must be running. Press the green START button and let the system complete the
calibration.
If the range of the three calibrations is too large, the Pump Calibration fault will activate in the fault screen. Each of
the three calibrations should settle on a similar current, within 1 milliamp (Danfoss series) or 10 milliamps (Rexroth
series). If this does not happen, the calibration may not be accurate and it it recommended to recalibrate. If the fault
remains active and you wish to continue, hold the Reset button to clear the fault and manually set your EDC threshold
in page 1 of the Setup Screens (shown on page 19).
Air temperature and other outside factors will affect the pump
EDC threshold for units with Rexroth circulation systems.
For best performance, it is recommend to recalibrate the
pump monthly, when working in different weather, or with
new product in the tank!
