Setting the thermostat
The thermostat automatically regulates the temperature inside the refrigerator and freezer
compartment (if present).
• The normal temperature setting is position 3.
• Set a higher temperature by turning the knob to setting 1 or 2.
• Set a lower temperature by turning the knob to setting 4 or 5.
• The ‘•’ position indicates that the thermostat is switched off. There is
no cooling.
For appliances with a freezer compartment, setting 4 or 5 is advised when frozen
products are stored for a longer period.
Intensive freezing
The day before you want to freeze large amounts of fresh food at the same time, you can set
the thermostat knob to the lowest temperature setting. Set the thermostat knob to the normal
position when the food is frozen.
Intensive freezing switch
(if present)
Activate the intensive freezing function eight hours before freezing fresh
food and the freezer will run continuously to provide maximum cooling.
The freezing temperature drops and the appliance switches to the
lowest temperature. Place the food to be frozen in the freezer quickly.
As soon as the food is frozen you must switch off the intensive freezing
function (after a maximum of 24 hours).
Performance at low ambient temperature
If the ambient temparature is less than 18 °C, the intensive freezing switch can be used to obtain
good performance at low ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is above 18 °C, the
intensive freezing function must be switched off when you do not want to use this function.
Attention
Do not switch on the intensive freezing function unnecessarily. This will save energy.
