12 Two twisted pairs SHDSL connection set up
When two XSLANs SHDSL switches are connected through a 2 twisted
pairs line,
up to 4,6 Mb/s instead of 2,3 Mb/s can be provided;
The data flow is automatically shared over the two pairs;
both ports of the XSLAN Nr 1 have to be set as a LTU (calling party)
and both ports of the other one have to be configured as an “NTU”.

Once the XSLANs will have been set
up, they must be connected to the
line according to the drawing
opposite.
Setting up The XSLAN Nr 1
•
Select the Ethernet & switching” menu and then the “SHDSL port” menu.
•
Select the LTU checkbox for both port 1 and 2.
•
Select the data rate according to the table of the appendix 1 for both port 1 and 2.
Note
: If the “auto” option is selected, it will cause the XSLAN to try all the
data rates. The connection delay will be long. Moreover, the XSLAN
software will select a cautious solution.
It is why the “auto” option will
be selected only if the distance is short (less than, 1 Km).

Select the “Signal power” value “Auto”.
•
Select the “
SHDSL ports aggregation” checkbox.
•
Save and click the reboot button.
