Chapter 5
Magnetic unit
The magnetic unit comprises:
1
the magnet
2
a system of gradient coils controlled by the gradient amplifier
3
the RF transmission coil, controlled by the RF amplifier
4
the RF screen located between the RF coil and gradient coils, to reduce
RF noise from the gradient amplifier
5
the RF receiving coils, timed by means of the RF reception system;
More specifically this is a set of receiving coils, each dedicated to the
examination of a specific anatomical region, but during signal
acquisition only one is connected to the device and the signal read is
acquired and processed by the computer to obtain the image.
6
the temperature sensors and heating elements of the thermal control
system, which are respectively the input and output of the control
mThe Magnetic compensation odule that maintains the magnet at the
operating temperature
7
The magnetic compensation coil, controlled by the related electronic,
to avoid the unwanted effects of a disturbing external magnetic field.
