Chapter 5: Pre-Election Day Tasks

Insert the bottom battery connector
into the top battery connector. The
picture below on the left shows the
two connectors before they are
connected; the picture below on the
right shows the two connectors after
they have been connected.

Replace the front panel.

5.

Move the UPS to the spot where you
want it to be when the scanner is
operating.

6.

Plug the UPS into a power outlet.

Connecting the Scanner to the UPS

Plug one end of the DS850’s power cord into the left side of the DS850, just below the
power switch. Plug the other end of the power cord into one of the bottom receptacles
on the UPS that provides battery backup. Connect the data communication cable to the
UPS and one of the USB ports on the DS850. The data communication cable is used by
the UPS to let the DS850 know when the UPS is operating on battery power.
