5.3 Online and Offline Operation

TESLA Control Panel can be used with or without a connection to the selected 
recorder. Both offline and online modes work within the selected Current IED 
workspace. 

Offline (Not 
Connected)

In Offline mode, you can manage and display a recorder’s local (previously up-
loaded) records and create and edit configuration files without being connected 
to the unit.

Online 
(Connected)

In Online mode you are connected to the recorder and have access to both local 
and remote data and functions: 

   •  Records (both local and on the recorder)

   •  Event log 

   •  Metering (realtime readings of input and calculated channels) 

   •  Channel and trigger configurations (the one presently active in the recorder 

and any saved ones you may have created) 

   •  Setup utilities and record configuration screens 

   •  Record graphics display 

   •  Trend logs

Connection 
Status

The Status Bar at the bottom right side of the TESLA Control Panel window 
shows if you are presently online or offline.
