During the restart several actions are performed. The content of the upgrade FLASH is verified. The base
data of the active FLASH is merged with the data stored in the upgrade FLASH. After final verification the
data of the upgrade FLASH is copied into the active FLASH if ordered. This process results in a delay of
the start-up but is indicated by flashing LEDs (see
). Optionally no upgrade can be ordered and
the upgrade information is just stored in the upgrade FLASH. This is useful if an upgrade is required at a
later date. In all cases it is necessary to create the output file based on the current system software version
and the in comparison to system software version that is to be upgraded to.

The PC operating system can be either Microsoft Win95 and

Requirements of the CPU-D4
