4.2.6 Linear Scale
1. Remove the Middle Housing. (p.88)
2. Move the Carriage Assy to the middle of the printer.
3. Remove the spring of the Linear Scale from the right frame of the printer.
4. Disengage the Linear Scale from the hook on the left frame of the printer, and move
the Carriage Assy to the left side.
5. Pull out the Linear Scale from the Carriage Assy slowly, and turn it by 90 degrees and
remove it from the right hook.

C A U T I O N
When you hold the Linear Scale, hold its ends or two points of the
top and bottom surfaces with your hands; do not touch the reading
surface.
Take care that the reading surface is not soiled or scratched.

P O I N T
Stylus Photo RX700 does not have any mechanism that permits the
operator to unlock the carriage. Therefore, turn the power ON and
turn it OFF timely after seeing the movement of the carriage to
locate it at a position other than the home position.
