Printer Lights

The table below summarizes the functions of the printer lights. 

Diagnosing Printer Problems

First, check the printer’s lights (see below) or run a printer check (see page 96).

On: printer is out of paper, multiple sheets have fed, or the wrong 
size sheet has fed.

Flashing: paper isn’t loaded for the currently selected paper path, 
or paper is jammed.

On: an ink cartridge is expended, or the Photo Black or Matte 
Black cartridges were swapped during printing.

Flashing: an ink cartridge is low on ink.

On: printer is turned on.
