3.2 Troubleshooting
This section describes how to check the defective unit and parts according to
its symptoms.
After installing the battery or installing the AC adapter, if LCD is not indicated
or if the red LED continues blinking and does not move on to the standby
condition, see the following tables that give you checking points and
solutions.

If any errors occurred on the 8 bit micro computer on SY1
board, which controls the user interface, it cannot output
commands to generate the various digital and analog
power and the camera becomes “power cannot be
applied” condition.
8-bit micro computer performs serial communication with
CPU on CA2 board. Same error will be generated if any
errors occurred on CA2 board.

Solution
1
Check the pulse input of 91
pin (SCAN IN 0) of IC301.
No
Check the harness and CN301,
R3021 including power SW.
2
Check the pulse input of 7 pin
(UP UNREG) of IC302.
Low
Check PW1, CA2.
3
Check the pulse input of 81
pin (VDD) of IC301.
Low
Check IC302.
4
Check the pulse input of 84
pin (RESET) of IC301.
Low
Check IC302 and R3051.
5
Check the pulse input of 85
pin (BAT OFF) of IC301.
Low
Check R3052.
6
Check the oscillation of 80 pin
(XIN) of IC301.
No
Check X3001.
7
Check the pulse input of 82
pin (XCIN) of IC301.
No
Check IC302, R3004, C3001 and
C3002.
8
Check IC301.

2
Check pulse input of 3 or 7 pin
(SCAN IN3) of IC301.
No
Check the shutter switch, CN301,
R2023 and R3024.
3
Check pulse input of 7 or 8 pin
(PON, P(A) ON) of IC301.
Low
Check IC301, Q3005, Q3006 and
PW1.
4
Check if 6, 12 or 13 pin of
IC301 all HIGH?
No
Check IC301, PW1 and CA2.
5
Is serial communication
normal?
NG
Check IC301 and CA2.
6
Check CA2.

Solution
1
Is the system drive clock
(72MHz) input to the 280 pin
(CLK IN1) of IC102?
Yes
Check X1101 and IC111.
2
Is CLK (36MHz) input to the
132 pin (CLK IN) of IC101?
No
Check 278 pin of IC102.
3
Check 61 pin (ZAS) of IC101.
NG
This signal always appears when
CPU accesses to the memories.
CPU may not read program from
IC121. Check address / data bus
with IC121.
4
Check 52 pin (ZBREQ) of
IC101.
NG
Request for use o data bus form
ASIC to CPU. No DMA transmission
if this signal is absent.
