All
interface
conditions are based on TTL level. Both the
rise
and fall of each
signal must be less than 0.2 microseconds.
Data transfer
must
be carried out by observing the ACKNLG or BUSY
signal. (Data transfer to this printer can be carried out only after
the
receipt
of
the ACKNLG signal
or
when the level
of
the BUSY signal is LOW.)
The column heading “Direction” refers to the direction of the signal flow as
viewed from
the
printer.
“Return” denotes the twisted-pair return to be connected at
signal
ground
level. For the interface wiring, be sure to use a twisted-pair cable
for
each
signal and
to
complete the connection on the return side.
Serial interface
The DFX-5000+ built-in serial interface is an RS-232C asynchronous
interface with the following characteristics.
Data format:
1 start bit
Data word length: 8 bits
Odd, even, or no parity
1 or more stop bit
Signal level:
Mark logical “1” (-3 V to -27 V)
Space logical “0” (+3 V to +27 V)
Handshaking:
Handshaking by DTR signal or Xon/Xoff.
Bit rate:
300, 12OO,
9600, 19200 bps
Connector plug:
EIA 25-pin connector
