6.1 Maintenance
This chapter explains the maintenance of the EPSON AcuLaser C4000. The
maintenance of this product is designed for users to do maintenance.
No lubrication or adhesion is repuired for this product.
6.1.1 Preparatory Maintenance
When visiting the customer, carry out preparatory maintenance in order to
prevent any problems other than the ones being concentrated on from
occurring.
Preparatory maintenance procedure
1. Check the conditions under which the customer is using the equipment.
2. Record the cumulative number of pages printed.
NOTE:
The number of pages printed is a guide for the replacement of
consumable parts. Replace any consumable parts if required.
3. Print several pages and check that there are no problems with printing.
4. Remove any foreign particles from parts such as the Transfer Unit (BTR
Assy), Photoconductor Unit (PHD Assy), Fuser Unit (Fuser Assy) and
paper feed rollers, and use a brush or a soft cloth to remove any
contamination.
NOTE:
If any parts are particularly dirty, clean them with a damp cloth an
then wipe dry with another cloth. Be careful not to damage any
parts that are being cleaned.
5. Clean the FAN air outlets.
Remove the FRONT HEAD COVER, and use a brush to remove any dust
or other particles adhering to the Fan Fuser. Furthermore, remove the
REAR COVER and use a brush to remove any dust or other particles
adhering to the FAN.
NOTE:
If the fan air outlet is blocked, the temperature inside the unit will
rise and cause operating problems.
6. Print a few more test pages and check that there are no problems.
6.1.2 Consumable components and components
that require regular replacement
The following table shows the list and lifetime of the consumable components
and components that require regular replacement.
NOTE:
Lifetime of the replacement parts is calculated in consideration for
the product reliability and thereby it does not force the replacement
at the described timing which is recommended for the product
quality maintenance.
