WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS

• Open windows/extinguish any open flame.

• Do not try to light any appliance.

• Do not touch any electrical switch or use any 

phone in your building.

• Immediately call your gas supplier from a 

neighbour’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s 

instructions.

• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire 

department.

Massachusetts  installations  (Warning):  This  product  must  be  installed  by  a  licensed  plumber  or 

gas fitter when installed within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Other Massachusetts code 

requirements: Flexible connector must not be longer than 36in, shut off valve must be a “T” handle 

gas  cock;  only  direct  vent  sealed  combustion  products  are  approved  for  bedrooms/bathrooms; 

fireplace dampers must be removed or welded in the open position prior to the installation of a 

fireplace insert or gas log.
