Device
Use an external temperature signal which is transmitted to the FMX21 via HART
burst mode
The device is available with an optional Pt100 temperature sensor. With this option, the
signal of the Pt100 is evaluated with a HART-compliant temperature head transmitter
(min. HART 5.0) that supports the burst mode. The temperature signal can be transmitted
to the device in this way. The device uses this signal for density correction of the level
signal.
The TMT72 temperature head transmitter is not suitable for this configuration.

Without additional compensation due to the anomaly of water, errors of up to 4 % may
occur at a temperature of +70 °C (+158 °F), for example. With density compensation, this
error is less than 0.5 % in the entire temperature range from 0 to +70 °C (+32 to +158 °F).

Post-connection check
• Are the device or cables undamaged (visual check)?
• Do the cables used comply with the requirements?
• Do the mounted cables have adequate strain relief?
