5. Insert the new power supply unit into the compartment. In doing so, ensure that the two clips
make an audible click when engaging in the indentations at the top and bottom of the
compartment.
6. Insert the connecting cable for the power supply unit into the socket on the PCB cover.

• Please note that after replacing a battery unit the "Battery Changed" button must be pressed in
the DTM so that the date for the "Last Battery Change" in the WirelessHART Adapter is set to the
present date. See the "Field device power" section on Page
10.1.2 Disposal
The WirelessHART Adapter is designed to power a field device. The battery version is therefore
equipped with a non-rechargeable, high-power lithium-thionyl chloride battery unit. The battery
unit is non-hazardous when used according to the recommendations of the manufacturer. It does,
however, contain hazardous substances.
Please observe national regulations, particularly those governing the disposal of lithium-thionyl
chloride high-power batteries in your country, and pay attention to the accompanying Safety Data
Sheet (CD-ROM folder: Material Safety Data Sheet).
In Germany there is a law that regulates the return of used batteries. You can return your battery
unit to Batterien-Montage-Zentrum GmbH (BMZ), a company specializing in batteries. (www.bmz-
gmbh.de). Please observe the German regulations when returning battery units in Germany. The
sender bears the costs incurred.
10.2 WirelessHART Adapter
10.2.1 Return
The measuring device must be returned if repairs or a factory calibration are required, or if the
wrong measuring device has been ordered or delivered.
According to legal regulations Hauser, as an ISO-certified company, is required to follow
certain procedures when handling returned products that are in contact with the medium.
To ensure the safe, professional and swift return of your device, please
refer to the applicable procedures and basic conditions on the Hauser website:

In the case of devices with a battery unit, the battery unit must be removed before the device is
returned.

• If Hauser requests you to return the battery unit, please pay attention to the
accompanying Safety Data Sheet and the local transportation conditions.
10.2.2 Disposal
Dispose of the WirelessHART Adapter in accordance with the regulations that apply in your country.
When disposing of the battery unit please observe national regulations that apply in your country,
and pay attention to the accompanying Safety Data Sheet (CD-ROM folder: Material Safety Data
Sheet).
