Event notification (application setting)
Event notification is a special application similar to the burst mode. An event notification is sent if
there are changes in the device configuration or device status, regardless of whether data are already
being sent by burst mode commands. The status included in the device status byte, the extended
device status byte and in command 48 can be used for event notification. It is possible to specify a
specific number of bits that will trigger event notification. Event notifications have a low priority,
but carry a time stamp in order to record the first time when notification was triggered. Up to 5
different event notifications can be defined in the
Event Notification 1
to
Event Notification 5
windows.
1. Click
Application Settings/Event Notification
in the DTM navigation tree to display the
window with an overview of the event notifications.

Wireless
indicates that the specific event notification has already been configured.

Off
indicates that the specific event notification has not been configured.
2. Click
Application Settings/Event Notification
in the DTM navigation tree and then select
Event Notification 1
.

You can enter text in the white fields. Press
Enter
to save your changes.

The gray fields are read-only.

• Off: the event notification mode is not active. The input boxes
are grayed out and write-protected.
• Wireless: the event notification mode is active. It is possible to
enter data in the input boxes.

WirelessHART Adapter when the "Apply" button is pressed.

Retry Time
Period in hh:mm:ss between the transmission of event
notifications that have not been acknowledged.
– The system continues to transmit the event notifications until
the WirelessHART Adapter gets confirmation of receipt.
