Resetting the Sample Flow Rate and
Recalculating the System Constant K
p
Use the procedure in this section to reset the sample flow rate and recalculate
the system constant K
p
in the field when the following conditions have
occurred:
•
The pressure or flow control devices in the sample system are
inadvertently changed.
•
The sample background composition differs greatly from that
specified for factory calibration.
To readjust the flow to the original factory sample flow setting
1.
Open the SCS door.
2.
Shut off the bypass flow.
3.
Connect a suitable flow measurement device at the outlet valve of
the sample system.
4.
Press
#7
, and then press
#
again to freeze the analyzer at validation
mode. The relay 1 to 3 should be all on during the readjustment.
The sample system will require
5-8 hours
to stabilize the
temperature of the new permeation device. SpectraSensors does
NOT recommend validating the analyzer during the temperature
stabilization period. New permeation devices may take up to 21
days to fully stabilize the validation concentration. It may be
necessary to increase the Validation Allowance parameter setting
during this period to prevent Validation Fail alarms. Refer to the
Firmware Operator’s Manual for instructions. Contact Service if a
stable validation concentration is not reached within 21 days,
Access to this parameter is gained through the Service password
only. Contact Service for password information. Refer to
SpectraSensors recommends a device that works on a positive
displacement technique that is not subject to flow rate errors due
to changes in gas composition.
