8.4.14   DHCP server

The device's firmware features a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server

which can be enabled and configured on this page.

The following parameters must be configured for the DHCP server:

• Maximum number of clients to be serviced. The maximum number of clients is 100,

including static mappings.

• Lease time

• Server IP address

• Netmask
The server will lease IP addresses from the particular network (except for its own IP

address). In addition, it is possible to specify a gateway IP address and a name server IP

address that are also distributed.

Static leases

Up to 10 static leases can be configured in this section. A static lease will ensure that a

client with a specific MAC address will be given a predefined IP address and that this IP

address is not leased to another client. The MAC address of the client must be specified

without any delimiters (e.g. 003056A1DB30).

Event log messages

The following section describes the messages that the DHCP server may log to the event

log. The messages are prefixed with the text 

DHCP server

Running

The DHCP server has been successfully started.

Added static lease IP=<x>, MAC=<y>

A static lease has been added. The message also shows the IP and MAC address.
